THE BISHOPS' CONFERENCE OF BELGIUM

The Bishops’ Conference of Belgium is the permanent organ of consultation of the Catholic Church in Belgium, through which the bishops and auxiliary bishops who are active in Belgium guide and coordinate the common policy in the ecclesiastical province of Belgium.

Within the Bishops’ Conference of Belgium, three permanent commissions and three committees (French-speaking and Flemish-speaking) carry out a mission of preparation to the task of the bishops and provide support to them. These commissions and committees also conduct thematic studies on behalf of the Bishops’ Conference.

Within the Bishops’ Conference of Belgium, each bishop is the person of reference to the commissions, the services or the councils which are entrusted to his personal care.
