Fr Antonio Ammirati
Father Antonio Ammirati (born on May 19, 1974), ordained priest on April 17, 1999 for the Archdiocese of Crotone - Santa Severina in the Italian Region of Calabria, former Secretary General of his diocesan curia, is a TV director, journalist, and author. From 2002 to 2014, he has been working at the National Office for Social Communications of the Italian Catholic Bishops’ Conference (CEI), in particular as a manager of the television sector and director of the TV broadcast of the Sunday Mass on RaiUno (the first channel of Italian National Public TV Broadcaster). He was a consultant for TG1 (News Program of RaiUno) for the live broadcasts of papal celebrations and a consultant for RaiUno's religious programs. He worked in the area of international cooperation as the coordinator of the Charity Interventions Service for the Third World of CEI. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Communication and Culture Foundation of CEI, and Secretary of the Board of Directors of “Fondazione Ente dello Spettacolo” (Agency for Entertainment Foundation). He is an editorial consultant, author, and director at the Catholic Broadcaster TV2000, where he specifically takes care of the events presided over by the Holy Father, in collaboration with Vatican Media. On 17 September 2018 he was appointed Deputy Secretary General and Spokesman of CCEE. He speaks fluent Italian, French, and English.
