On the occasion of the Jubilee of Synodal Teams and Participatory Bodies, the members of the European Synodal Task Force held their meeting in Rome, at the CCEE premises, on 24 October 2025.
For the Implementation Phase of the Synod on Synodality, the European Continental Synodal Team, coordinated by H. Em. Card. Jean-Claude HOLLERICH, SJ, Vice President of CCEE, has been composed from 39 delegates designated by each of the Bishops’ Conferences in Europe, responsible for tracking and sharing developments in their own Bishops’ Conferences as well as being an instrument to share developments from other Conferences in Europe within their own Bishops’ Conferences.
To coordinate the work of the European Synodal Team, a six-member Synodal Task Force was created, coordinated by H. Em. Card. Ladislav NÉMET, SVD, Vice President of CCEE. The members of this task force are: Professor Klára CSISZÁR, from Romania, theologian at the Catholic University of Linz; Professor Father Christoph THEOBALD, SJ, from France, theologian at the Facultés Loyola in Paris; Professor Giuseppina DE SIMONE, from Italy, philosopher and theologian at the Theological Faculty of Southern Italy; Sister Anna Mirijam KASCHNER, CPS, from Germany, General Secretary of the Nordic Countries Bishops’ Conference; Mrs. Helena JEPPESEN-SPUHLER, from Switzerland, and Deacon Geert DE CUBBER from Belgium.
The coordination of the European Synodal Team and the European Synodal Task Force is done at the level of the Presidency of CCEE.
